I sat around at home in Springwood as several small cells approached from the south.

A rumble got me out of the house to have a look and a small gustfront was forming.

This cell was slightly west of me and tracking north, so I figured Mt Coot-tha would be a good spot.

Thankfully, it was - because it was heading straight for me and developing a gorgeous guster!

Some showers to the east:

I couldn't decide whether to let this baby roll over me or head off and try and stay ahead of it in case it developed into something even better.

After posing with my camera for Channel Nine, I figured I didn't have much to gain by staying (except maybe some hail dents) so I took off. I left it till the last minute and because traffic was a nightmare, this thing was nipping at my heels!

I just knew I wanted to go north so I ended up on Samford Rd. The traffic finally eased as I hit the open road past Samford...

...and eventually on to Dayboro where the storm eventually died.

There was the occasional lightning flash down south from a new system heading up through Harrisville, but with no direct roads down there I decided to head home down the eastern highways. I wish I'd gone west and back down through Esk because this cell intensified around Marburg. On my way home I ended up run into some heavy rain, but still there was very little lightning.
