There was heaps of potential instability for the north side of Brisbane. Strangely though, there were no supercells and vitually no lightning, despite the most incredible rock solid updrafts I've seen around Brisbane in a while. This was the stuff tropical storms are made of: clear blue sky with isolated cells exploding.

I never even got into my car, deciding instead to chill out on the back patio and watch the show from the south side of Brisbane.

Cells continually reformed along a rough line between Wivenhoe dam and Redcliffe.

All activity was over by sunset.
