This evening turned out better than I expected after a forecast of an "afternoon shower or thunderstorm, tending to late thundery rain". The ensuing rain band formed a distinct line at one point and it seems I was in the best spot to see a huge gust front.

I wasn't expecting a gust front at all and was very surprised to discover it was huge!

Once the rain hit, it obscured most of the subsequent lightning.
